Theo was a daydreamer. While other kids chased each other at recess, Theo would lie on the grass, watching fluffy clouds drift across the endless blue sky. He saw dragons, pirates on treasure ships, and even castles in the clouds.
One day, a grumpy raincloud arrived, blotting out the sun with its dark frown. Theo sighed. Rain meant staying cooped up inside, no cloud watching for him. But then, he noticed something strange. A tiny figure with paint-splattered wings zipped across the sky, a brush trailing behind. It landed on the raincloud’s edge.
Curious, Theo squinted. It was a little fairy, no bigger than his thumb, and she was painting! With each stroke of her brush, the raincloud transformed. Flowers bloomed on its sides, a bright rainbow arched across its belly, and the grumpy frown turned into a sunny smile.
Theo gasped! The fairy looked down at him, startled. “You can see me?” she squeaked.
Theo nodded, wide-eyed. “Who are you?”
“I’m Luna,” the fairy said. “I’m a cloud painter! We make sure the clouds look their best because happy clouds bring happy weather.”
Luna explained that sometimes clouds get grumpy from holding too much rain. She needed to make them happy before they burst and caused a downpour.
Theo wanted to help. “Can I show you the shapes I see in the clouds?” he asked excitedly.
Luna smiled. “Of course!”
Together, they spent the afternoon painting. Theo pointed out dragons with fiery breath, playful rabbits chasing each other, and even a giant candy cane for a sweet storm that wouldn’t cause any damage. Luna expertly brought his ideas to life on the fluffy canvases of the clouds.
Soon, the sky was filled with happy clouds, each one a unique creation from Theo’s imagination. The sun peeked through, casting a warm glow on everything below. Everyone in town looked up, surprised and delighted by the fantastical shapes in the sky.
From that day on, Theo didn’t just dream about the clouds; he helped create them. He became Luna’s partner, a ground-based cloud painter with a vivid imagination. Together, they ensured happy weather, one rainbow-colored cloud at a time.
